Individual and Family Disaster Preparedness
Presenter: Brian Smith and Kaylinn Young, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Oklahoma City
While Oklahomans are not new to disasters and the many community impacts, we often normalize the severe weather seasons in our state and find ourselves under prepared. This session will offer an overview of disaster preparedness through resources created and developed in Oklahoma by Oklahoma disaster workers. We will cover basic emergency planning, document and identification storage, storm shelter registration, insurance 101, and the “cycles” of disaster.
